A Contemporary Look at Culture presented by Chicano artists and friends, is an exhibition that challenges the ethnic stereotypes that are often associated with various communities by transforming them, in form and context, integrating their presumed meaning. Breaking down the boundaries of low and high art, addressing multifaceted topics such as nostalgia, power, and hope, connecting and inspiring a broad audience. Artists featured in this exhibition have been highly progressive and influential forces in the local Southern California communities, reflecting on their backgrounds and how their culture and ideology has played a role in their personal and creative practices.
