For me it began with this fear of missing out and a search for the tool to “hunt.” It was incredibly important for me to document everyday life even if it was seemingly mundane. It became a personal revelation when I realized I was capturing stories.

The end of 2019 saw my vision in the form of instax mini camera polaroids; yes, those trendy wall decorations. Working with the bare minimum taught me how to compose, understand polaroid film, and shoot for fun! I had little to no range meaning I was extremely close to everything and everyone — I liked it. I was able to sponantenously capture authentic expressions and behaviors that made me relate to whomever I shot.

Once I accumulated over three-hundred polaroids, I knew it was time for an analog camera. I researched and watched many tutorials about film cameras, including the scanning and developing process, so I had background knowledge before commiting. I finally bought my Canon A1 camera and have been shooting on it for over 3 years. My first roll of film was Kodak Colorplus 200 at the beach.

I’m unsure how to categorize my photography style but I also don’t feel the need to limit it or myself. As of now, I concentrate on storytelling, creating, and most importantly, having fun!
